Tommy Mottola Michael Jackson | Tommy Mottola Illuminati
Tommy Mottola and Michael have been having a beef for a long time before the demise of the latter. But according to quora.com “Motolla wanted primary professional and artistic control over Michael and other artists on his label. This made Michael very unhappy, as Michael worked very hard to become the international superstar that he is today. Major labels will only grant artists a small amount of control even if it is the artists’ own vision-unless they are able to negotiate for more in these areas before any contracts are signed.
You have to understand, when I said that Michael was one of the biggest stars of his generation, you would think that whenever he asked Motolla about wanting to broaden his own scope or vision and business empire and that he would have trusted Michael more in these areas. Look at Michael’s incredible track record. He’d proven that he could out sell any artist in terms of albums and his shows were virtual sellouts in minutes.”
Their beef was so great that Michael at one time described to him as “The Devil” and said he “Wants to be a free agent”.
