Susan Hendricks Biography
She was raised in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She studied at the Hun School of Princeton in Princeton, New Jersey and graduated in 1991, she then joined the Arizona State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications.
She was inspired to pursue a career in television journalism by Walter Cronkite, after hearing him speak at Arizona State University in one of her journalism courses. She begun her news career at Comcast Cable in Orange County, California then headed to KESQ in Palm Springs where she was a field reporter. At KESQ, she was able to meet the source of her inspiration, and interviewed Walter Cronkite for a piece on KESQ.
She joined the NBC affiliate KMIR after two years in the field, where she anchored a two-hour morning show. She then headed to Atlanta after a few years with KMIR and joined CNN Headline News, as well as anchoring the weekend and primetime news shows. She covered breaking stories. She also acted as an entertainment correspondent.
She also anchored a CNN interactive news site on CNN.com. She moved from Atlanta back to Los Angeles to be part of an interactive news channel on DIRECTV. In September 2005, her work schedule and limited public exposure encouraged her to return to Headline News.
