Meharchand is a South African journalist from Durban currently working as a news anchor and Host for CBC News Now weedays from 10 a.m to 1 p.m.

She has hosted hosted several News Programs for CBC throughout her career as a jornalist. This includes weekend programs on CBC Newsworld, and Saturday Report. In addition, she has hosted several CBC regional news program in Toronto for five years.

She is a two-time Gemini Award nominee. Additionally, she holds several awards from the Columbus International Film & Video Festival and the New York Film and Television Festival. In addition, Rotary International has awarded her the Paul Harris Fellowship.

Suhana has also worked for CJOH in Ottawa and CHCH-TV in Hamilton, Ontario. Many people  remember her as the host of the CBC’s youth news and current affairs program “What’s New.”

She loves giving back to the community, and among his community activiteies includes, Performers for Literacy, Gems of Hope, Redwood Shelter for Women and Children, the Canadian Paraplegic Association, the Hospital for Sick Children, and the Princess Margaret Breast Cancer Centre.

Suhana is a proud graduate of Ryerson University, in Toronto where she persued Broadcast journalism.
