Steve Azar whose birth name is Stephen Thomas Azar is country music writer, recording artist and a producer. His love for country music was inspired by Eugene Powell at an early age. Steve would hang out behind his dad’s liquor store to listen to Eugene Powell songs. He was born and raised in Greenville Mississippi at the entrance to the Mississippi Delta. Steve formed a band and was busy touring with his band while studying at Delta State University. He was playing in all big clubs in the Delta and almost all Blues Festival. He later moved to Nashville where within days he got song publishing contracts offers.

He studied and graduated from Delta State University.
His first full release in 2002 was ‘Waitin’ on Joe’ which had a single ‘I Don’t Have To Be Me Til’ Monday’. This was followed by a throat surgery that stalled his career and sidelined him from performing on the live band.
In 2006 he came back after a long recovery and soul searching on his career direction and released ‘Indianola’ from his own independent music label called Dang/Ride Records. He also released “You Don’t Know a Thing” and “You’re My Life” which also enjoyed a huge liking at the country radio.
In 2009 he released ‘Slide On Over Here’, “Moo La Moo”, “Sunshine”
