Evans is a British journalist from Cardiff, Wales currently working as a Presenter for BBC News.
Evans joined the station, BBC Radio Wales in 1983 as a producer of a program called Meet for Lunch.
Later, March of 2001 saw him working as the BBC’s North America Business correspondent. Prior to this, he has worked as an industry correspondent for both BBC radio and television.
Between the years 1985 and 1989, he worked at HTV in Cardiff, winning Welsh TV Reporter of the year in 1988. Later in the same year, 1988, he worked as a reporter for BBC Radio 4’s World at One in London, before becoming BBC industry correspondent.
He was on the ground floor of one of the World Trade Centre towers when the planes flew into the complex on the event of September 11, 2001. He gave his eyewitness account live to the BBC’s radio and television networks.
Stephen won the Sony Radio Gold Award for programs he made about Detroit and the car and music industries.
Evans is a proud graduate of Cambridge University where he studied Economics.
