Shelby Myers Biography
Shelby was born and raised in the small town of Thomasville, located in Alabama. She attended the University of South Alabama. Here, she emerged with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Sociology. While in school, she reported and anchored for Jag TV, a university show, and also won a Creative Arts Award within the Communication Department for a documentary on the South Alabama football team.
After college, she joined WXXV News 25 in Biloxi, one of the two county seats of the Harrison county of the state of Mississippi in the United States. She started off as a multimedia journalist. Over time, she became a nightly news anchor. She began acquiring an interest in investigative journalism. Due to her growing interests, she started a weekly program highlighting crime and cold cases on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Through the program, she managed to garner an award from the Mississippi Gulf Coast Crime Stoppers organization.
Before her works mentioned above, she had worked as a Newsroom Intern at WKRG 5 (2013), a place that awakened her passions of journalism; a Sideline Reporter at The Prowl (2013); a Sales Associate, Cashier, Stock Room at Game Day Sports LLC (2008-14); and as a Childcare Provider at St. Pius X Day Care (2014). She seems to be happy and ready to take on her new role as an investigative journalist at Fox 10.
