He was a news anchor in the Channel One News, the high school TV network, which send him abroad to cover stories in Afghanistan, Indonesia, San Salvador, and the Sudan. He was nominated for an Emmy Award at WNYW, at age twenty-two, for his “School Security” segment, where he exposed the lack of security at schools throughout Manhattan.
In 2004, he won a Peabody Award for his series on the Sudan. He was hired by CNN in April 2006 as a special video news correspondent for South Asia, including India. He remained with CNN, until June 2007 based in New Delhi.
