Samica Knight Biography
Samica Knight is an award-winning American journalist and anchor for ABC13 Eyewitness news for KRTK, Houston. She has received awards from The Associated Press and the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters. Also, she recognized for a story she investigated about a Pennsylvania company that took thousands of dollars from employees for health insurance that did not exist. Her investigation led to the introduction of state legislation.

Samica knight Husband
Samica and her husband have a baby boy. She overwhelmed with tears when Baby ‘Lee’ arrived. Her Instagram and Twitter feed has photographs of her and her baby boy. There are photos of her baby first two teeth and both of them dressed in cowboy outfits, Once, Samica dad also found ten puppies whimpering in a bush and put out a fundraiser to help adopt the pups.

Being a native Houstonian, Samica attended Houston High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. She described her high school years as the best, although there were a lot of awkward photographs. Also, She was part of the Houston Children Chorus. Her singing had her performing at the famous Carnegie Hall in New York as well as a tour of Chineses cities like Shenzen, Shanghai, and Beijing.
After high school, Samica went to the University of Houston and she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism. Besides a journalism degree, Samica also graduated from the University of Houston Program for Excellence in Selling. It is one of the top sales training programs in the country.
Samica Knight Career
Samica first interned at KRTK, Houston before going on to KXXV, Waco. Her stint at Waco includes covering high profile court martial cases at Fort Hood and President George W Bush while he was at his Crawford Ranch. She moved on to WHP-TV in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, as a general assignment reporter and anchor. Whilst in Pennsylvania, she investigated a Pennsylvanian company for embezzling health insurance premiums collected from their employees. Samica received an award from The Associated Press and the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters for her work and it also led to state legislation being introduced.
KRTK Houston beckoned and Samica moved back to Houston. She delighted to go back to where she started her broadcasting career. In one of Samica stories, she arranged for a Central Texas family to have a reunion with their dad who served in South Korea. The family thought they were part of a fundraiser at their high school football game and took a photograph with the mascot. When the mascot unveiled, it was their dad, Sergeant First Class Pablo Ureste. It was an emotional reunion for the family.

Knight said it had been too early in her pregnancy to discuss the illness publicly, but she said the baby is “doing great.” While battling what she called Hyperemesis Gravidarum, she was dangerously dehydrated, lost 15 pounds in a week and was hospitalized multiple times.[Hyperemesis] is the worst and most severe case of pregnancy sickness,” Knight said in the post. “You may remember Dutchess Kate Middleton was hospitalized with it. It only affects about 5,900 women every year and … well… guess who was lucky enough to have it:)”
