Pastor Paul was born to his parents Billy Joe Daugherty and Sharon Swift, he had three siblings and he was the last-born son. He was brought up in a christian background because his father was an evangelist and broadcaster. His father was the founder and pastor of Victory Christian Center now called Victory Church, as well as Victory Christian School, Victory Bible Institute and Victory World Missions Training Center now called Victory College.
In 2009, Paul’s father was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma which is a type of blood cancer. He struggled with cancer and later died at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas at the age of aged 57 on November 22, 2009. Her mother also died the same year.
