Chambers is an American journalist currently working as a Senior Vice President of Content and as an Executive Editor for Lonely Planet since October of 2021.
Previously, he worked as a Vice President, Content Experience for CNN Digital from June 2019 to September 2021. There, she oversaw product discovery and content strategy for CNN Digital’s new ventures and emerging product portfolio.
She is a firm believer in the transforming potential of information and community provided through an exceptional user experience.
Chambers formerly managed CNN Digital’s Content Development team for three years, tying together content, product, and commercial strategies to achieve business goals through franchises and editorial products. She won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2018 for her work on Explore Parts Unknown, Anthony Bourdain’s digital companion to Parts Unknown.
Chambers was the Director of Content Strategy at Threespot, a full-service digital agency based in Washington, D.C., prior to joining CNN. She oversaw digital strategy for clients such as the National Park Service, PBS Newshour, Poynter Institute, National Museum of African American History and Culture, and the National Portrait Gallery in this role.
Chambers worked for ABC News for nearly a decade, holding positions on both the broadcast and digital teams. She oversaw special projects across the ABC News Digital portfolio, including editorial product development for the Yahoo!-ABC News strategic partnership, as well as coverage of major news events such as the Royal Wedding, Arab Spring, President Obama’s Inauguration, and the 2008 and 2010 presidential election editorial product suite. Chambers was also the editorial lead for the team’s content management system development.
Chambers was one of the team’s original recruits in 2006, covering the 2008 presidential election for ABC News Digital, and worked to develop the tools, templates, and workflows that defined the network’s digital coverage. She began her career at ABC News as a researcher and production assistant in the Nightline newsroom.
