Nicole Nalepa is an American news and traffic anchor for WFSB Eyewitness News, Virtual Channel 3, a CBS affiliated TV Station based in Hartford, Connecticut. She joined the network in 2013 and began updating the traffic news from 4:30-9 am. Initially she worked for WWLP-TV and later she joined CBS Evening News with co-host, Katie Couric

Nicole studied at Craneville Elementary School in Dalton, Massachusetts where her fourth grade teacher Mr Winters would recollect that she was a Happy girl and very engaging with other students.
She excelled in music class. Her music teacher Mrs. Buxton would later go to say she always had good questions and good comments and a great energy.
Nicole went on to major in Communication Broadcast Journalism at Westfield State University, Massachusetts. She participated in many extra curricular activities such as The Musical Theater Guild Communication Club and WSC-TV Club.
Her career as a news anchor was cemented when she became the host of The Hoot a political and social commentary program which was aired bi-weekly on the university campus and other local access channels.

Nicole wears many hats at Channel 3 Eyewitness News. Her day starts early where she wakes up Connecticut at 4:30 A.M. alongside Scot Haney. In addition to anchoring, Nicole helps Connecticut drivers by providing timely traffic reports on the weekday morning newscasts from 4:30 A.M. to 7 A.M.
She was one of the first “live on-scene” reporters from western Massachusetts, during the manhunt for the Boston Marathon bombing suspect; CNN aired several of her live reports and her coverage contributed to an Emmy-winning newscast. Just days after Hurricane Sandy paralyzed parts of the Northeast, Nicole accompanied local pilots who were delivering aid to one of the hardest hit areas in New Jersey, and documented her journey.
She also covered the deadly tornado that ripped through western Massachusetts on June 1st, 2011 and was part of the news team that won two Emmys and an AP Award for the coverage. Nicole graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Communication degree from Westfield State University. She has had the opportunity to work alongside some of the best writers, producers, reporters, and anchors in the industry.
Nicole is also involved with several organizations and non-profits such as: the Ch. 3 Kids Camp, Autism Families CONNECTicut, Women’s Transportation Seminar, and Wreaths Across America. But despite keeping busy, she also enjoys relaxing at home with her husband and their dog–“Ringo”.

This announcement came during Eyewitness News This Morning’s 6 a.m. broadcast. “My husband Andrew and I are expecting 2019 to be the best year yet for us,” Nicole said. She said she surprised her co-anchors and coworkers separately. Nicole is due in June 2019 and plans to keep the baby’s gender a surprise.
