Her nickname “Moe” was given to her by a classmate while she was studying biology at the Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

She was born in Houston but was mostly raised in Fort Worth, Texas since she was three years old. Not much is known of her family but we do know that she followed in the legacy of her paternal grandmother and mother by becoming a member of Zeta Phi Beta sorority.

Her first known work was as an associate in a dental practice in Minnetonka, Minnesota, in the United States in 1988. She then moved to become a writer for a column for a Sports Magazine. Some years after, she published her first book, “Black English Vernacular: From Ain’t to You Mama“, a dictionary of African American Vernacular English, in 1994. Following the release, she was a weekly lifestyle columnist for the Star-Telegram, a major daily newspaper in Texas up to 2004. She released her second book, Mom, Are We There Yet?, a collection of several columns written during her time as a journalist. She was later given the opportunity to host a cable TV program for AT&T launching her professional speaking career.

Sometime later, she formed a publishing company, TyMAC Books and released When A Sistah’s FED UP in 2005 which was a bestseller by Essence Magazine and Dallas Morning News. Her next novel was I Stand Accused which made it fast to the Dallas Morning News Bestseller List in 2007. Apart from writing her own books, she has contributed to the writing of a number of anthologies like “When Women Become Business Owners” and “So How Was Your Date? Dating Chronicles of Single Men and Women”. She has been a freelancer for Drbicuspid.com and Soulciti.com for a long time now and is also a member of the editorial committee for the American Association of Dental Consultants (AADC).

She has frequently appeared as a keynote speaker for various national conventions and corporate meetings. Along with this, she is a certified Dental Consultant, and Frequent Blogger, Podcaster, and promoter of empowerment, work-life balance, and personal transformation.
