Mike Lucas Biography
Mike Lucas is a multi-media journalist pursuing a career in the sports media industry. From a young age, he always gravitated to two things: sports and talking. Lucas decided he wanted to make a career out of his two passions and it started at Emerson College. He spent three years as a sports reporter/anchor and news reporter for WCYB-TV in Bristol, Virginia. He is proud of his work ethic and he is determined to deliver the best product possible. Lucas has covered NASCAR, Division 1 athletics, Team USA Basketball in 2014, the 2014 Super Bowl in New York/New Jersey, and Major League Baseball Spring Training in 2015 down in Florida.
He has covered sporting events on all levels, from professional basketball to D1 collegiate athletics, from high school football and hoops to NASCAR. He started his time at WCYB producing a market-leading 6 a.m. newscast, where he learned how to put together a cohesive and attention-grabbing show while dealing with breaking news in a fast-paced news market.

Mike Lucas Career
He had previously worked as an intern at WFXT-TV Fox 25 Boston, Dime Magazine. Mike immersed himself in every sports-related extra-curricular activity at Emerson and gained valuable real-life experience from that. In his reporting career.
From January 2014 to January 2015 he worked as the Assistant Sports Editor for the Berkeley Beacon he wrote stories on Emerson athletes/athletic events and helped edit other writers’ stories. During his time at Emerson, Lucas has honed skills as an anchor, reporter, writer, and producer in both the school environment and the real world. From September 2011 to May 2015 he was the co-anchor and co-producer for the longest-running radio program on Emerson’s Talk and Information Network, “The Lucas & Lucas Show.” He created topics for debate work, work the phone line, and host the hour-long show with Lucas Frankel. They were both awarded the Thomas J. Jaworski Radio Journalism Award for our work on the show.
From September 2012 to August 2015 he was the sports director/ reporter/ Webmaster of WEBN Boston where he write stories, cut highlights, and prepare the weekly run down. He also anchors and reports for both the sports show and the news program. He was the reporter and host on the 2014 Super Bowl trip to New Jersey/New York and was a reporter on the 2015 Spring Training trip to Florida. From 2013- 2014 he was the head webmaster and oversaw everything that was posted online. That year, WEBN Boston won the Associate Press’ “Best College News Station” award.
