Baltierra is an American journalist currently working as the Executive Editor/Producer of E:60 and Outside the Lines for ESPN since September of 2008.
In addition, he has managed editorial content, shaped and supervised the production of long-form features, films, and specials, in addition to managing the show’s team of reporters, producers, and editors.
Through his career with ESPN, he has been able to travel to South Africa and Brazil to cover the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups.
Prior to ESPN, he worked with ABC News for 13 years. His career as a journalist began in 1996 as a vacation relief desk assistant on the overnight news desk for ABC News. In addition, he has held several positions for ABC News such as Senior Broadcast Producer for Nightline, and London Bureau reporter/producer covering Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, producer for Peter Jennings at World News Tonight.
Among his assignments with ABC News included covering the war in Afghanistan, the Iraq War, and elections, the Second Intifada, the aftermath of Sept. 11th in Europe and the Middle East, the capture of Saddam Hussein, the Asian tsunami, and the death of Pope John Paul II. In addition, he was one of the first reporters to cover the bombing of the USS Cole in Yemen.

He is a proud graduate of Yale University where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree, with magna cum laude, ” with great praise,” honors. Additionally, he is a proud graduate of Tufts University where he acquired a Master of Arts from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
Baltierra is an award-winning journalist as he has won nine Edward R. Murrow Awards, 16 Emmy Awards, a George Foster Peabody Award, and an Alfred I. DuPont Columbia University Award. While working for E:60 he has earned 14 Sports Emmy Awards. Additionally, some of his international investigations which he supervised have been honored. This includes The Dictator’s Team: Soccer in Syria with the Emmy for Outstanding Sports Journalism; Corrective Rape in South Africa with the United Nations Special Gold Medal; and Qatar’s World Cup with the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award.
