Melissa Bell(Journalist) Biography
Melissa Bell is an American technologist and journalist. She was one of the people who launched the Indian business newspaper Mint, and held several positions at The Washington Post, from 2010. Together with Ezra Klein they left the newspaper to co-found the news and opinion website Vox with Mathew Yglesias in 2014. In 2015 Bella was named a vice president of growth and analytics for Vox and she has served as the company publisher since 2016.

Before she planned on attending law school she attended Georgetown University in Washington D.C. When the September 11 attacks occurred she was working as a legal assistant at a New York Law firm. After she left New York she took a variety of Jobs which included Bartender in vail, Colorado and a waitress at a race track. She was encouraged by her mother and she decided to enroll at Northwestern University’s Medil School of Journalism, and interned at Indias’s Hindustan Times. In 2006 she graduated with a master’s degree.

In early 2014 she co-founded the website Vox. In New website she served as Executive editor and senior product manager. She led the development of the site and managed teams focused on analytics, graphics and the news app in this role.
In 2015 she was appointed as vice president of growth and analytics for Vox Media. During this time she worked on audience and new product development and established best practices for all of Vox Media’s sites such as Curbed, Eater, Polygon, Racked, Recode, SB Nation, The Verge, and Vox. In mid 2016, She was named publisher of Vox Media with responsibilities of audience and brand development.

FOX 25 free-lance meteorologist Melissa Bell was arrested for drunken driving early Friday morning – and then went on the air that night – after she nearly struck a state police cruiser while speeding and weaving on Soldiers Field Road, according to state police.
The 39-year-old Bell was behind the wheel of a 2004 Cadillac Escalade when she passed a state police trooper in the left lane “going well over” the posted 40 mph speed limit at 1:35 a.m., according to state police spokesman Dave Procopio.
