Albert is an American Peabody-winning journalist currently serving as the Chief National Investigative Correspondent for Hearst TV based in Washington, D.C. He attended and graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism. Albert, during his 20-year-old journalist career, has appeared on every CBS News broadcast, including the CBS Evening News and on CBS News Radio, when he was a freelance correspondent at the network for three years. He also launched a news startup and led it as editor-in-chief.
Mark is a winner of the highest honor in broadcast journalism, the George F. Peabody Award, for his year-long, five-part investigation into the death of a sailor in Iraq that led the U.S. military to change the way it tracks the remains of every American service member killed around the world. Mark is also a two-time honoree of the National Headliner Award, including its Grand Award; recipient of honors from both the National Press Foundation and the National Press Club; winner of the Premack Award for Excellence in Public Affairs Reporting, six regional Edward R. Murrow awards, and 12 regional Emmys; and a recipient of the Excellence in Legal Journalism and the Advancement of Justice award from the Michigan Bar Association, along with many other honors.
