Andrews is an American journalist from Oakland, California currently working as an NBA Reporter/Host where she covers the league nationally since October of 2018.

Her work has appeared across ESPN platforms such as SportsCenter, ESPN Radio, and ESPN.com.

Andrews made her debut with ESPN in the 2019-20 season at the ESPN World of Sports Complex in Florida where he worked as a sideline reporter. She did this throughout the NBA Playoffs which made her one of the youngest sideline reporters ever for a Conference Finals telecast.

Malika was also one of the first reporters to cover from the NBA’s temporary Florida campus after the league’s decision to resume the season following a 4-month hiatus due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

Prior to ESPN, he worked for one year as a reporter for the Chicago Tribune. In addition, she previously worked for the Tribune. She also worked for one year for The New York Times as a James Reston Reporting Fellow in the sports department.

Among the highlights from her newspapers includes traveling to Lake Tahoe as part of a team of journalists that reconstructed the events between Donald Trump and Stormy Daniels. In addition, she reported on the impact of the Sonoma County wildfires on the equine industry during the fall of 2017. In addition, she has covered a Super Bowl and covered how the Larry Nassar sexual assault case affected children’s gymnastics.

Andrews is a proud graduate of the University of Portland where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in addition to graduating with honors. While there, she served as the editor-in-chief of The Beacon, the university’s student newspaper.

In addition, she received awards from the National Association of Black Journalists, the Columbia Scholastic Press Association for her work, and the Society of Professional Journalists. The year 2016 saw him win the Best Writer Award among Oregon college students.

Andrews is a proud member of the National Association of Black Journalists and sits on the NABJ Sports Task Force Scholarship Committee.
