Alfredo Alvarez is an American journalist currently working as a Spanish-language play-by-play announcer for ESPN Deportes and ESPN in Latin America since 1991.

She joins the station in 1991 where she was working as a freelancer providing play-by-play for the American League Championship Series and in 1992 for the MLB All-Star Game and World Series.  Alfredo joined the company full-time in 1995.

She brings to the station over 20 years of experience as a sports commentator. His play-by-play responsibilities include Sunday Night Baseball, Venezuelan League Baseball, and the Caribbean World Series. In addition, he is the Spanish-language voice of tennis across Latin America covering all four Grand Slams.

Being considered as one of ESPN’s most versatile Spanish-language on-air personalities, Alfredo also covers other sports such as auto racing, golf, and basketball.

Previously, he worked for Televen in 1992, Omnivision from 1988-1991, and Multicanal from 1993-1994, all this in Caracas, Venezuela. In addition, he served as Sports Manager and talent for Omnivision.

Alfredo earned an Announcer’s Certificate in Venezuela.
