Kristen Welker is an American media personality currently working for NBC News as a White House Correspondent.

Kristen attended Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia for her high school graduating in 1994. She then enrolled at Harvard University where she studied American History graduating in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors. She also studied Spanish in Madrid on a Rotary Scholarship.
Kristen began her career in media in 2001 as a reporter at ABC affiliate KRCR where she worked for 2 years until 2003. In 2003 she joined WLNE-TV in Providence, Rhode Island where she worked as an anchor and reporter until 2005. During the same period, she worked at KRCR-TV.
Prior to joining KRCR, she wrote for her school paper in high school and, while attending Harvard University (NBD), the Harvard Crimson. She took an entry-level producer job in Manhattan after graduating producing news feeds for CBS-affiliate stations to use in their stories.
Kristen has worked and traveled with ex POTUS Barrack Obama and ex VP Joe Biden. She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
