Barker is an American journalist from Mendota, Virginia working with Sportsnet. Since his signing in with Sportsnet, he has been a key contributor in the in-depth coverage of the Toronto Blue Jays and MLB.

He currently brings for over a decade first-hand MLB expertise to the radio booth. His aim is that they may be a co-host to the show Baseball Central alongside Jeff Blair on Sportsnet 590 The FAN and across the Sportsnet Radio Network.

Before pursuing his career as a journalist, he spent time in the major leagues playing for the Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres, Cincinnati Reds, and Toronto Blue Jays.

He is a proud graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University where he played college baseball for the Virginia Tech Hokies. Barker was drafted by the Brewers in the 1996 MLB Draft. The team was to make its MLB debut on August 19, 1999.

2002 saw him join the San Diego Padres before transitioning to the minor league system. Later in the year 2006, he was named the International League Player of the Week as a member of the Syracuse SkyChiefs. This was just before receiving a call-up from the Blue Jays in September 2006.

In Blue Jays, he was the recipient of the 2006 R. Howard Webster Award as the Triple-A Minor League Player of the Year. After his tenure with Blue Jays, Kevin went ahead to play for the Triple-A Louisville Bats and within the Mexican League before retiring in 2011.
