O’Brien is an American journalist from New England currently working as the Northern New York Bureau Reporter for WCAX.
She is a proud graduate of Salem High School in New Hampshire. Kelly then moved to Green Mountain State where she received her BA in Electronic Journalism Arts from Lyndon State College.
O’Brien headed down south to WFMY News 2 in Greensboro, North Carolina, as a photojournalist after her graduation. There she covered everything and ended her time there working in the “2 Wants to Know” Investigative/Consumer office.
Kelly is happy to work with the WCAX team and eager to tell YOUR stories. Aside from New York, she also lived in Vermont, North Carolina, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. She also holds a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award which she won.
Away from work, she loves hiking up the mountains or snowboarding down them in the winter. She also loves her cat, Lulu, which she has posted on every social media platform she is allowed to post.
