Kelly Foster is an American award-winning journalist from the Mississippi Gulf Coast currently working as a meteorologist/anchor/reporter at WPMI since September of 2001.

Foster is an American award-winning journalist from the Mississippi Gulf Coast working as a meteorologist/anchor/reporter at NBC15 since 2001.

Prior to NBC 15, she had anchored WDAM-TV’s highly rated Live @ Five newscasts and served as a part-time meteorologist. She in addition anchored at WXXV-TV as a morning anchor.

Her passion has always been Tropical Meteorology, having covered close to a dozen Gulf Coast landfalls. This comes after she had direct hits from Major Hurricanes Ivan (Strong Cat 3, Landfall Gulf Shores AL), Dennis (Cat 3 Landfall Pensacola/Navarre Beach, FL), and Katrina (Strong Cat 3 Landfall LA/MS border). Prior to landfall, Ivan and Katrina were Cat 5 storms with Dennis at its strongest just under a Cat 5. Foster has in addition experienced first-hand the aftermath and destruction from Ivan and Katrina, which are considered some of the most destructive hurricanes of all time.

Kelly possesses two degrees. She is a proud graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a Radio, Television, and Film degree. Foster also holds a degree in Meteorology from Mississippi State University. She in addition studied at Auburn University and in England at the University of London.

Being a native of the Mississippi Gulf Coast she is happy to be working in a market close to home. Away from work, she loves spending time with her husband and children. Among her hobbies includes reading the works of Southern authors, playing tennis, singing, and boating.

Kelly was in addition honored by the Associated Press with a first-place award for “best franchise” reporting. Foster was also awarded the American Meteorological Society’s Seal of Approval.
