Kelly Bates is an American journalist currently serving as a meteorologist for NBC 10 News. She joined Storm Team10 in August 2004. She is a North Attleborough native.

Kelly is an American journalist currently serving as a meteorologist for NBC 10 News. She joined Storm Team 10 in August 2004. She is originally from North Attleborough. Kelly attended Feehan High School and graduated from Lyndon State College. She is a 2004 and 2005 Emmy nominee. Bates began her television career at WJAR as a college intern more than 15 years ago. Professionally, Kelly began her career in 1996 at WMUR in Manchester, New Hampshire. Back there, she has served as the weekend morning meteorologist and science editor for four years. From there, she went to work for a private company in Atlanta where she was providing forecasts and graphics for a cable television station in the Netherlands.
More recently, Kelly spent four years at WLNE in Providence before coming back to NBC 10. Bates is a proud holder of the National Weather Association Seal of Approval for Broadcast Meteorologists, an honor she has maintained since 1998. She also holds the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval for Television. In 2013, she was voted by the readers of Rhode Island Monthly magazine as the best female meteorologist in Rhode Island.
