Barr is an American journalist currently serving as the Executive producer for WHNT since August 2016. This is after working as the 10pm newscast producer for a while before moving up to the Executive producer. He joined WHNT News team in December 2015. Barr currently resides in Rocket City. He began his news career in Paducah, Kentucky as a photojournalist in 2005 before moving to newscast producer. He has also worked in News in Newsrooms in Nashville, Tampa and Atlanta. That includes time at The Weather Channel where he covered Hurricane Isaac, Superstorm Sandy, multiple severe weather outbreaks and dozens of winter storms.

When he is not working, he enjoys exploring the natural beauty of North Alabama by hitting the area hiking trails. Justin also enjoys craft beer and learning more about all of the history and features that make this area so special.
