Van Dusen is a Canadian journalist currently working as a reporter for CBC News Network, CBC supper hour shows, and The National where he has worked for more than 20 years.

Van Dusen has also guest-hosted CBC Radio’s All in a Day, As It Happens, The Current, and Cross Country Checkup, and is a weekly panelist on CBC Radio Ottawa’s All in a Day. Her work has taken her to Washington, Montreal, and Toronto, among other places. In her years on Parliament Hill, Van Dusen has covered every major political convention, election, leadership race, and First Minister’s conference. 

She has written numerous reports on the Canadian Alliance’s evolution and instability, as well as its later merger with the Progressive Conservatives. Since its start, she has covered the Liberal Party, the New Democratic Party, and the Bloc Quebecois.

She has covered presidential meetings in Washington, D.C., as well as excursions by world leaders such as Nelson Mandela and the Dalai Lama. Julie was a live reporter on Pierre Trudeau’s funeral train as it passed through Ottawa on its way to Montreal. She was one of the fortunate reporters who had the opportunity to interview.

Van is a proud graduate of the University of Ottawa where she obtained a degree in French literature. Additionally, she is fluent in English.
