Parr is an American journalist currently serving as a Multi-media journalist for KTBS Texarkana Bureau. She joined KTBS team in 2003. She started as a reporter and worked her way up to a producer and a photographer. Parr was born and raised in the Texarkana area. She graduated from New Boston Highschool and went on to study communications at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas. She continued her education at Arkansas Tech University where she earned herself a Master’s degree in Multi-media journalism. While in College, she interned for the show “Good Morning Texas” at WFAA Channel 8 in Dallas, Texas.

Julie currently covers the news in a 13 county area which includes Texas and Arkansas. Specifically, in the Texarkana region she covers breaking news, crime, city government, health and education on both sides of the state line. During the fall season, you can find Julie shooting highlights of football teams in East Texas and Southwest Arkansas. The Texarkana segment runs daily on the KTBS 24 Hour News Channel.
