Peterson is an American journalist currently serving as an anchor and reporter at WMC Action 5 News. She joined the News team in February 2018. The Memphis, TN, native is a second-generation TV journalist and has reported the news in the Mid-South for more than 25 years. She attended Miami University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism. Peterson has worked for WATN-TV ABC 24 as an anchor and reporter for almost 9 years and has also worked for WISL-TV for a period of seven months. She is also married to your favorite weather guy, WMC Chief Meteorologist Ron Childers. Weekdays you’ll find Joyce anchoring our 3:30 and 4 p.m. newscasts. Then she switches gears and hits the street to report at 10 p.m.
