Prior to this, he was the Economics reporter for the station from July 2013 to February 2019.

He is an award-winning online journalist and covered economics, business, and financial news for more than 30 years. In addition, he was the founder of msnbc.com, CNBC, and public radio’s Marketplace. In addition, he has taught online journalism as an adjunct professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. He taught here from October 2013 to September 2016.

He was also an Economics reporter for NBC from June 2012 to June 2013. John was also the Senior Producer of MSNBC from March 1996 to June 2012. He also worked as a Director of the News Coverage from the year 1989 to 1995. In addition, he works as a Reporter Producer, Newscaster, Assignment Editor, City Editor, and Reporter among others. He began his career in 1997 where he worked as a reporter for Westchester Rockland Newspapers.

Schoen earned a Master’s in Journalism from Boston University in 1977. In addition, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Bowdoin College.
