John Barron is an Australian journalist from Australia, currently working as a presenter of ABC Fact Check since 2011.

Barron hosts The Drum and Planet America on ABC TV. He has more than 20 years of experience as a journalist and broadcaster and has written for publications including The Washington Post. He is the author of three books including Vote For Me about the American presidential election process and is a Research Associate at the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney.

He hosted news and current affairs programs Planet America, The Drum, The Future Forum, and The Party Reagan on ABC News24. Also, he presented the national Breakfast and Drive programs on ABC NewsRadio.

In addition, John wrote about the US and Australian politics for publications including The Washington Post and produced and presented documentary features The Party of Reagan and First Stop, Iowa which has screened in the US, China, and Australia.
