Before entering Harvard Law School, he assisted Steve Brill in the establishment of American Lawyer magazine. Cramer joined Goldman Sachs in sales and trading after graduating and passing the New York State Bar Examination and being admitted to the New York State Bar. He contributed to The New Republic while at Goldman Sachs, writing on stock market issues.
