Jennifer Hammond Biography
Jennifer Hammond is an American sports reporter. She is the Fox 2 News broadcaster. Hammond aspired to be a sports reporter as a child, and the fiercely competitive trailblazer is now an institution in Detroit sports. She worked as a radio broadcaster in Kalamazoo and had her first on-camera job in Chicago before returning to Detroit.
Hammond’s knowledge of sports and her gregarious charm earned her a position at Fox 2 News in 1995, where she remains today.

Former Dolphin’s Linebacker John Offerdahl and Head Coach Jack Harbaugh were among some of her first interviews. She also worked at Kalamazoo radio stations WQLR/WQSN. Hammond played commercials for Notre Dame football games and Cubs baseball. As well as covering City Commission and School board meetings.
After graduation, Jennifer returned to Chicago to pursue her on-air career working as a reporter for Shadow Traffic. Hammond also did some work as a morning show and afternoon co-host at WTMX Radio in Chicago.
Her on-camera experience came from Tribune-owned CLTV where she started doing morning traffic reports. That job evolved into a position as the morning sports anchor. This was the ticket back to Detroit came in July of 1994 when she was hired by Sports startup WDFN. Jennifer Covered Lions, Wings, Tigers and Pistons.
Jennifer also did Michigan and Michigan State football and basketball. In fact, it was during a freelance gig covering the Wings 1997 Stanley Cup parade that the News Director at Fox 2 offered to give her a full-time job. Now four Stanley Cups, two National Championships and an NBA title later she is still there.

After the Detroit Pistons lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference playoff series, Andre Drummond had some time in the locker room to reflect on fouling Giannis after getting a Flagrant 2 and being ejected from the game.
Jennifer is a local reporter in Detroit and asked Drummond directly about the foul on Giannis. After posting his response on Twitter, Drummond fired back quickly because he apparently was not happy about it.
