Born in Fayetteville, Georgia, Williams was involved in theatre, comedy and television in Atlanta, where his credits include playing with the Georgia Shakespeare Festival, performing and writing for Agatha’s: A Taste of Mystery and being a longtime member of Atlanta’s longest running improv troupe, Laughing Matters. Williams had recurrent roles in the I’ll Fly Away and In the Heat of the Night television series, both filmed in the Atlanta area. He moved in 1998 to Los Angeles.

Williams ‘ past roles include Abraham Kenarban (Stevie’s dad) in Malcolm’s Fox TV sitcom in the Middle and as the Bailiff of Judge Trudy on Nickelodeon’s The Amanda show. Williams was a regular series on the comedy series of the WB Television Network, Blue Collar TV. In 2003, Williams played a small role in an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, “Invisible Evidence.” Clarence Bell, a pathologically shy man who expresses himself through characters, including cross-dressing as women, appeared as a part-time lawyer during season three and four of Boston Legal. Originally, the role of Clarence / Clarice appeared in one episode but was expanded into a recurring role and then a regular role.
Williams plays parts in five different shows on Cartoon Network’s late – night programming block, Adult Swim, one being a STRATA technician on Saul of the Men, the other as a self – hating African American, Uncle Ruckus on The Boondocks, Coroner Rick, a recurring character on Stroker and Hoop, and Paul Revere’s role on the TV special, The Young Person’s History Guide.
Williams is currently working on a new animated series from Mike Judge. He was part of the Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction show segment, and guest-starred on How I Meet Your Mother and Two and a Half Men. Also Williams guest stars in the 7th season of the Weeds TV show as the halfway house director. He joined the cast of the animated China series, IL as Doctor Falgot’s voice in 2011.
Williams was also in an episode of the show Workaholics.
