Erika Jayne also is known as Erika Girardi is an American singer-songwriter, author, actress, television personality, and dancer. Raised in Atlanta, she came to prominence with the release of her debut single “Roller Coaster”. It topped the US Billboard Dance Club Songs chart in 2007 and was included on her debut studio album Pretty Mess in 2009.
She has attained nine number-one songs on the Dance Club Songs chart as of 2018. Billboard magazine ranked her as the 42nd greatest dance club artist of all time in the year 2016. She is known for The Watch (2012), Lowball (1996) and The Young and the Restless (1973). Jayne designed a makeup collection for Too Faced Cosmetics, released on February 12, 2019. It consisted of a 12-shade eye shadow palette, a body shimmer, a highlighter, two-color and gloss lip kits, and lip plumper.
She graduated from North Atlanta High School. She then enrolled in a magnet program for the performing arts in high school, saying, “That’s where she really learn to love the stage and really hone your early performing skills. I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything in the world.”
Erika also participated in a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity via a SoulCycle class hosted by Mauricio Umansky’s real estate firm The Agency in 2016. She then described the event by saying: “It was a great way to stay fit and raise money for a good cause. I’m glad it was a success. I would do it again anytime.”

Jayne was born to a single mother, Renee Chahoy. Her mother, a fellow actress, and a classically trained pianist was only 18 when she gave birth to her. Her parents broke up before she turned a year old. She describes her childhood in her book Pretty Mess, Jayne states that her mother was “short with me, hard on me, and irritable. She would snatch my ponytail, dig her nails into my arm, and step on my feet. And that was in public.”She was later adopted by her mother’s new partner where they were married and divorced twice. In the middle of the marriages, her stepfather legally adopted her, but he later cut off contact after their second divorce from her mother.
Erika met her biological father for the first time when she was 25 and she compared it to “meeting a stranger.” She revealed that she has seen her biological father only twice after their first meeting, saying “he had never, ever acknowledged my existence, to anyone, and obviously to himself, as well.” She has said that her tough upbringing made her grow up quickly and has taught her to be self-reliant. She always had a close relationship with her grandparents, Hollis and Ann Peek. Her grandfather whom she called “the only father I’ve ever known,” died in July 2010 at the age of 81.
Her grandmother died in November 2014 of Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 86. “My grandmother and I used to speak on the phone for an hour every day about nothing. When those phone calls stopped, that was the hardest. Because I knew she could no longer communicate. I had always gotten such strength and such love from those phone calls and when they stopped, it was a real marker of, ‘This is over, Erika. The woman that you know is no longer,” she said in one of the episodes of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

In 1999, she married Thomas Girardi, an attorney and founding partner of Girardi & Keese in downtown Los Angeles. From her husband, she adopted the name, Girardi. The couple is philanthropists and together they contribute to their community with frequent charitable donations. Jayne participated in the protest march against the Yulin Dog Meat Festival, where hundreds of supporters marched towards the Chinese Consulate in 2015. The march had been organized by her The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star Lisa Vanderpump and Girardi described the march as her “favorite charity event.”
