He has worked as a reporter and news anchor for over two decades. Drummond has been inducted into the Faculty of Radio and Television Arts Wall of Fame and has received the Ryerson University Alumni Award of Distinction.
As he progressed through the industry, Drummond did just about every job there is to do in a newspaper. Dwight is known for breaking local stories that have gone national, and he has reported from the United States, the Caribbean, and Africa. He wrote the lead story for CityNews’ Gemini award for best newscast, as well as a top article for the Edward R. Murrow award for best newscast.
Drummond has also received numerous awards and commendations for his community service and police reporting. For accomplishments in media, he has received the Men of Excellence Award, the Distinguished Men of Honour Award, and the African Canadian Achievement Award for excellence in media.
In high school, he attended Runnymede Collegiate Institute and later graduated at Ryerson University of the Radio and Television Arts program.
