Ferguson is a Canadian journalist from Montreal currently working as a host of the show AIR FARCE.

Ferguson is one of the troupe’s founding members. He is co-chief executive of the production firm, supervising all aspects of production and distribution, in addition to appearing in AIR FARCE.

Doctor Von Rikkengord of the F-Bomb, newsreader Franklin W. Armstrong of the Chicken Cannon, politicians such as Pierre Trudeau, Joe Clark, Paul Martin, Ronald Reagan, and Bill Clinton, and celebrities such as Bob Dylan, Keith Richards, Charlton Heston, and dozens more are among Don’s most memorable AIR FARCE characters.

Don also made guest appearances on Comedy Bar, The Sean Cullen Show, and Duct Tape Forever, as well as starring in and producing the series pilot XPM.

He has also executive produced the shows My Kitchen Can Be Anything, Second Jen, and Newborn Moms, in addition to AIR FARCE. Ferguson produced SketchCom, a show that featured up-and-coming sketch comedy troupes, as well as three one-hour Dave Broadfoot comedy specials that received critical acclaim and strong ratings. He produced CBC’s All-Star Comedy Homecoming, a 90-minute special for the network’s 50th anniversary. This show helped reunite comics from all five decades. In addition, it helped produce  52 webisodes of Farce Funnies for CBC.ca.

He has written and produced documentaries for CBC-TV, a science-fiction series (Johnny Chase) for CBC Radio, and two-stage plays — “Skin Deep,” a political satire, and “My Dieppe,” a drama. He co-authored with the late Roger Abbott the book Air Farce, 40 Years of Flying by the Seat of Our Pants and published the book in 2011.

Don earned an Honours English degree from Montreal’s Loyola College (now Concordia University), then worked in radio, as an audio-visual producer, and as a photographer until he discovered that comedy writing and acting were more enjoyable.

As a member of AIR FARCE, Don has garnered numerous awards and honors. Don and his colleagues Air Farceurs became the first Canadian members into the International Humour Hall of Fame in 1992, winning the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in 1998 and receiving a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame in 2000.

AIR FARCE received the Earle Grey Award for Air Farce’s body of work in Canadian television, as well as the People’s Choice Award for favorite television shows, at the 2000 Gemini Awards. The Canadian Comedy Hall of Fame inducted Air Farce in 2001. In 2013, Don was honored with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, 15 ACTRA Awards, and a Juno Award for the best comedy album. In addition, he received two honorary degrees of law from both Concordia University in 1998 and Brock University in 1993.
