Buckner is a Canadian journalist currently working as a Television host for Dragons’ Den since 2009.

Dianne enjoys being the host of Dragons’ Den. Buckner states that she is not sure which is more enjoyable: spending time with the Dragons since they’re just as entertaining and impressive off the air—or meeting all of the brave and creative entrepreneurs who come to pitch. She brings a deep interest to her job at CBC News, as well as years of expertise.

Dianne hosted the popular current affairs program Venture for several years, and eventually became the show’s executive producer. Buckner went on to co-create Fortune Hunters, a magazine show on entrepreneurship that aired on CBC Newsworld. 

Buckner worked at CTV for five years, where she co-hosted the consumer affairs program Live It Up! and was a backup anchor for CBC’s Canada AM.

Her work has led her to Australia, the Netherlands, Japan, and Iceland, where she has conducted interviews with prime ministers as well as renowned CEOs like Jack Welch and Warren Buffett.

Buckner has also worked in print media, contributing book reviews to The Globe and Mail and writing a weekly column for the Metro newspaper group.
