David Axelrod (David M. Axelrod) is an American political consultant and analyst who became most popular for being the Chief Strategist for Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns. He was born on February 22, 1955, New York City, New York, U.S.
Axelrod was appointed as Senior Advisor to the President after Obama became President. He left the position in early 2011 to head Obama’s successful re-election campaign in 2012 as the Senior Strategist. Axelrod is the director of the non-partisan Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago and CCN’s Senior Political Commentator.
