Simon is an American journalist from San Francisco currently working as a news correspondent for CNN based in San Francisco since August of 2005.

Since joining the network in 2005, he has covered a wide range of topics for the network, including Hurricane Katrina, the historic 2008 Presidential election, Steve Jobs’ death, Jaycee Dugard’s kidnapping, Asiana Flight 214’s disaster in San Francisco, and the global Ebola pandemic.

Additionally, he has given the network in-depth coverage on a variety of topics, including a series of stories for Anderson Cooper 360 about the so-called Lost Boys, young men who were abandoned by their families in Utah and Arizona for not adhering to the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints’ strict tenets. He’s also written a number of pieces on the topic of same-sex marriage and the famous California Prop. 8 case.

Simon also provides tech coverage for the network due to his proximity to Silicon Valley. He covered Uber when it was merely a couple of drivers when it began in San Francisco.
