Dan Pfeiffer Biography
Dan Pfeiffer is an American activist, podcaster, and a former Senior Advisor to U.S. President Barack Obama for Strategy and Communications. He was a longtime aide to Obama where he served in various press and communications roles throughout his 2008 campaign for the Presidency, on his presidential transition team, and in the Obama White House. Daniel co-hosts the Pod Save America podcast with Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, and Tommy Vietor. He joined CNN as a political contributor.

Daniel married Sarah Elizabeth Feinberg, a senior advisor and spokeswoman for Obama’s former Chief of Staff, and the current senior advisor and spokeswoman for Mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel. Pfeiffer and Feinberg separated in 2011 and later divorced.
He married Howli Ledbetter a former director of message planning in the Obama White House in 2016. Howli gave birth to daughter, Kyla in May 2018.

Daniel graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University. He then began his career in politics working as a spokesman for the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) initiative of the Clinton Administration. He joined the communications department of Al Gore’s 2000 campaign for the Presidency in 2000.
Following the 2000 presidential election, Daniel went to work for the Democratic Governors Association. He later worked for Senators Tim Johnson, Tom Daschle, and Evan Bayh. He then served briefly as communications director for Evan Bayh’s presidential exploratory committee.

After the 2008 presidential election, Dan ran the communications office for the Obama-Biden Transition team. He was then appointed Deputy White House Communications Director after the inauguration of Barack Obama. Less than a year later, after the departure of Anita Dunn, he was named White House Communications Director.
Pfeiffer remained in the role for the entire first term of the Obama presidency. At the beggining of President Obama’s second term, Dan was promoted to Senior Advisor for Strategy and Communications, taking over most of the portfolio that were before managed in the White House by David Axelrod and David Plouffe. On March 6, 2015, Dan left the White House.

Dan Pfeiffer Podcast
Pod Save America premiered in January 2017. It airs twice weekly, the Tuesday edition is hosted by former Barack Obama staffers Jon Favreau, Tommy Vietor and Jon Lovett, and the Thursday edition by Favreau and Pfeiffer. The Podcast was on its first live tour Pod Tours America in the fall of 2017. The live shows were recorded and released as podcasts. In 2018, an international tour Pod Tours the World was announced. It has had live shows in Stockholm, Oslo, Amsterdam and London.

Dan Pfeiffer Stroke
In reference to a latimes.com post on Feb 4, 2015, over dinner on one night, Dan began to feel dizzy. At the time, he tried to convince a goup of reporters that President Obama was pursuing the right strategy in dealing with Congress.
It was the first of stroke-like symptoms. Dan finished his arguement before excusing himself to go to a hospital. He was eventually diagnosed with hypertension.
