Friel went to Methacton High School in Eagleville, Pennsylvania, where she regularly made the televised morning announcements and was active in the school’s media production class. She was chosen to appear in Channel One News’ student-produced week in Los Angeles, following her short video submission. Friel is a graduate of San Diego State University, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
Friel is well known for her previous work having covered entertainment for Fox owned-and-operated station KTTV in Los Angeles and also for Fox News Channel and other local stations.
Before joining KTLA, Friel was the entertainment reporter at Fox News Channel, notable for her contribution to a number of entertainment-related programs for the network’s website, FoxNews.com.
