Chris Nestman is an American journalist currently working as a weather forecaster for the First Warning Weather Team, KTUL since January of 2017.

Nestman is an American journalist working as a weather forecaster for the First Warning Weather Team, KTUL.

His career began in Idaho where he covered a lot of wildfires and snowstorms with the occasional bout of severe weather (usually in late September). Nestman later moved to South Carolina where he covered daily sea breeze thunderstorms and Hurricanes Irma, Florence, and Michael. Florence was in particular impactful to him, as he reported and saw firsthand the devastating flooding a slow-moving hurricane can do.

He is a graduate of Brigham Young University where he obtained a bachelor’s in broadcast journalism. Chris is in addition a graduate of Mississippi State University where he studied a seal in Meteorology.

Aside from living in Idaho, South Carolina, and now Oklahoma, he has resided in Utah, California, Alaska, Tennessee, and the Czech Republic. His moving around has however not been easy but he claims that it makes one appreciate the good in where he/she lives. Additionally, as for him, it was always fun to discover that weather has specific peculiarities that make it different everywhere you go.

Away from work, Chris loves watersports and enjoys skiing, water polo, and pretty much any snow sport. In addition, he and his wife are foodies and therefore are trying new restaurants and are always looking for new places to visit.
