Chris Murphy is an American journalist currently working as a News Anchor for Fox 29 in Philadelphia since October of 2013.

Murphy is an American journalist working with Fox 29 in Philadelphia.

Currently, he resides in Northern Nevada where he resumes after 20 years.

Previously, he anchored the evening news at a station across town from 1997-2000 and is delighted to call Reno home again. For the last two decades, he has worked in Portland, at the Fox affiliate from 2000-2002. Later, he moved off to San Francisco to anchor the mornings for KRON4. This is where he fell in love with the morning show format as it allows him to engage viewers and in-studio guests on everything. This includes tension in the Middle East to easing tension through hosting yoga instructors live in the studio.

Some of his most memorable interviews include Don Rickles, Ray Romano, H. Ross Perot, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, Gavin Newsom, and Henry Winkler. However, he claims that the best interview he has done in his 25 years on air was undoubtedly Smokey Robinson.

He most recently worked with Fox stations in Philadelphia and San Diego.

Away from work, he loves cooking for his two children. Surprisingly, he is able to cook a mean Chicken Parmigiana and prepare a chocolate cake. His kids can testify that his cooking is better than his golfing. He also loves golfing on the many great courses the Reno area has to offer.
