Luther is an American journalist from California working with WMC Action News 5 during weekdays at 5, 6, and 10 p.m.

His career as a journalist began at San Marin High School, recording solo play-by-play broadcasts of the school’s basketball. In addition, he covered football games on a digital recorder while also reporting for the school newspaper.

He has moved from sunny California to snowy Syracuse, New York to attend the Newhouse School of Journalism at Syracuse University.

In Syracuse, Chris got the opportunity of a lifetime working for, Bob Costas, at the 2012 London Olympics.

He moves from the beautiful Pacific Northwest to his current working station. His three years as a journalist began at NBC affiliates, first in Yakima, Washington, then in the Tri-Cities. In Washington, Luther worked on assignment during the two largest wildfires in state history. There he reported live in Roseburg, Oregon after the deadly school shooting at Umpqua Community College. In addition, he helped investigate improper disclosure of Social Security numbers for thousands of documents posted online by local county clerks across the state.

He is a huge fan of telling stories and believes that a good story can make one laugh, cry and think if done well. His ambition is to do work that makes an impact on viewers.

Aside from work, he loves being active. This includes doing activities such as running, playing basketball, and exploring new places which are some of his favorite things to do. In addition, he enjoys uncontrollably yelling at his TV during Giants, Warriors, 49ers, and Syracuse basketball games. Lastly, Chris loves to unwind with a nice glass of wine, harking back to his Northern California roots.
