Hoffman is an American journalist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania working as an award-winning reporter for KDKA since May of 2019.
Prior to KDKA, he worked at WSET in Lynchburg, Virginia, in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. There he covered major stories including the scandals that rocked Virginia politics, the chaos in Charlottesville that followed the “Unite the Right” rally. He also covered Virginia Tech’s 10th anniversary of the deadly mass shooting on campus, and several damaging storms, including a tornado that tore through 20-miles.
He was recognized by the Associated Press of the Virginias when they named him one of their reporters of the year.
Hoffman worked at WPMT in the Harrisburg area and WCTI along the North Carolina Coast before living in Virginia.
He is a proud graduate of Moon Area High School. Chris later moved to Point Park University where he double-majored in Broadcast Journalism and Television Production. There he interned at KDKA before graduating.
Aside from work, he is an avid Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins fan. He and his wife enjoy running along the city’s trails.
