Cheryl Burton (born December 25, 1962) is an American news anchor. Since 1992, Burton has been working for ABC 7 Chicago (WLS-TV) in Chicago, Illinois.
Burton anchors the station’s 5 p.m . and 10 p.m. newscast alongside Alan Krashesky and the 7 pm newscast on WCIU-TV alongside Hosea Sanders.

Burton began her career appearing in the American children television series, Romper Room. After that, she appeared as a contestant on Star Search. After that, she hosted an hour-long cable TV show called Simply Elegant. She began her journalism career as a co-anchor in a nationally syndicated weekly series” MBR: The Minority Business Report” in 1989.
The following year, Cheryl moved to Peoria, Illinois, where she worked as a reporter at WMBD-TV. She then became an anchor at KWCH-DT in Wichita, Kansas in 1990. Two years later, she joined WLS-TV in 1992 as weekend co-anchor and reporter.
Since then, Cheryl has been working as a news anchor at WLS-TV. In addition to journalism, she is a public speaker for the students of the Chicago Public Schools.
