MacNeil is a Canadian journalist from Antigonish currently working as a host for weeknight prime time news on CBC News Network where she airs the 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. news.

Carol was a Saturday anchor on CBC News’ daily news program The National, where she was one of three permanent hosts. MacNeil hosted CBC News Network with Carole MacNeil weekdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. from 2009 to 2016. She hosted CBC News: Sunday and CBC News: Sunday Night from 2002 to 2009. Prior to September 2002, MacNeil was the host of Canada Now’s Toronto edition. For CBC News: Sunday and CBC Television, she has hosted a number of live specials. From 1994 to 1998, MacNeil worked as an anchor for the Windsor evening news.

MacNeil is one of Canada’s most experienced and versatile journalists, and whether she’s reporting from the field or interviewing a cabinet minister from her host’s chair, she gets to the heart of the story.
