Brian Markinson is an American actor. He has played numerous roles both on films and television shows. Brian is famous for his roles such as a U.S. Attorney General in Shooter, an unscrupulous industrialist in Godzilla, and has had a supporting role in Angels in America.

Along with Jeffrey Combs, he is one of only two actors to play two different, completely unrelated characters in a single episode of a “Star Trek” series, playing Lt. Peter Durst and Sulan in the Star Trek: Voyager (1995) episode “Faces.”.

Markinson trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. He later graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He graduated from New York’s American Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1983, along with (among many others) actors Elias Koteas, Illeana Douglas, Louis Mustillo, Adam Klugman, Jody Wood, Elisa Anders, Jonathan Mandell, and Michael Reid Carter.

After graduating, Markinson, Koteas, Wood, Anders, Mandell, and Carter were members of the Academy of Dramatic Arts’ 1983-1984 Production Company. Brian has portrayed many characters. One of his memorable roles was as Police Chief Bill Jacobs on Da Vinci’s Inquest and Da Vinci’s City Hall.

He has also appeared on Continuum, Arctic Air, Traveler, NCIS, The L Word, NYPD Blue, Psych, Supernatural, Touching Evil, Taken, Dark Angel, UC: Undercover, Stargate SG-1, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager,[4] The X-Files, Millennium, Mad Men, Fargo, the TV film Lucky 7.

Markinson also does stage acting. He has performed both on Broadway, Off-Broadway and in regional theatres across Canada. He understudied Kevin Spacey in Lost In Yonkers and in 2016. Brian also led the revival of Tony Kushner’s Angels in America at the Arts Club Theatre Company in Vancouver.

Brian is married to Canadian Nancy Kerr. The couple is blessed with two children their sons Isaac and Evan. They were both born in Los Angeles in the late 1990s. The family moved to Vancouver, Canada in 1999 where they have resided since.
