Brian Curtis is an American journalist who works as a co-anchor at NBC 5 News at 6 p.m and 10 p.m from Monday to Friday. He has over 25 years of experience in the local TV news. He grew up in both Connecticut and Rhode Island.

Brian attended the University of Missouri School of Journalism where he earned his Masters. He had previously attended Emory University for his degree in Political Science. Curtis is also a graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall situated in Wallingford.

Brian has been in the journalism industry for more than 25 years. He has won multiple Emmys and he has also been honored several times by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters as the best news anchor in Texas.
He covered the fertilizer plant explosion in West, Texas, the Tornado outbreak in 2012, and also the loss of a space shuttle in Columbia. During the 2014 Texas gubernatorial debates, he happened to be one of the panelists. Curtis has also covered the Olympics in London, Beijing, Torino, and Athens, as well as the Super Bowl and the World Series.
He joined NBC 5 as a general assignment reporter back in 2003 and has worked his way up the ranks to the anchor desk. He started his journey at KOMU-TV situated in Columbia and then passed through stations in Battle Creek, Grand Rapids, Birmingham, and Kansas City.
