Previously, he worked as a Section Producer/News Editor for the same station from January 2008 to January 2018. With CNN, he has been able to guide coverage of CES, SXSW, E3, and other events; written about innovations in robotics, artificial intelligence, and 3D printing; and interviewed Mike Tyson in a boxing ring.

Prior to joining CNN, he had spent 13 years as an award-winning editor, art critic, columnist at the Salt Lake Tribune, and reporter in Salt Lake City, Utah. In addition, he was a 1999-2000 fellow with the National Arts Journalism Program at Columbia University.
