Beverley O’Connor is an Australian journalist from South Africa, currently, working as a Television host, radio presenter, and journalist for ABC News 24 since 1987.

O’Connor presents The World on ABC News 24. She has been a journalist and presenter with ABC for more than twenty years.  O’Connor specialized in economics and politics and was a presenter on ABC Radio Melbourne for five years before moving to the Seven Network in 2004. She was a student at the University of Johannesburg. Later she joined the University of Johannesburg and Drama University. Finally, she has done her degree in economics and politics and also studied ballet for 15 years.

Her passion for international news has had her based with Australia Network for the past few years, broadcasting into Asia and the Pacific. In 2013, Beverley was an inaugural Asia Pacific Journalism Fellow and traveled and reported from China.

In August 2014, O’Connor was appointed presenter of The World on ABC News 24 replacing both Jim Middleton and Zoe Daniel.
